REVIEW

Best Japanese Hot Pot in NYC area

Ok, this is it.. Make your way to Hakata Ton Ton for one of the most authentic Japanese meals in the NYC area. Ideal for a cold or rainy night, savor the elegant flavors of their unique Japanese Hotpot. You'll need to call in advance for reservations or wait by the entrance for up to an hour for a table. (Diner's Note: Even if they say an hour, you have a good chance getting a table earlier.) During your first visit, try the classic Hakata Tonton, with Bibimbap, that is, with the remaining broth cooked in rice at the end of the meal. When you're ready for something a little more adventurous, try the Hakata Motsu, which has the option of its broth being cooked with fresh ramen. If you go with a group, you'll have some room for trying appetizers such as the Mix Salad and Okonomiyaki.
